Travel enough road miles and it becomes way too easy to miss vintage signals you pass by on a daily basis. Here are some hidden jewels that are still in service, all within two miles of my house.

Green Adler (sounds like a poisonous snake or a Batman villain):

And tucked away on one corner of a pretty busy intersection is this Marbelite or Horni (my Marb-Fu is weak and I can’t tell the difference):

Although, while I’ve heard others refer to variants of this signal as Marbelites, I’ve never actually seen a catalog, advert or other ‘proof’, so I’m 98% sure it’s a Horni (although the adjustable signal right next to it is without a doubt a Marb). And with the advert below, I’ll increase my Horniosity confidence to 99.5%.

And just another mile down the road from the Marb/Horni is this cluster of CH Type M’s with a smattering of small bead smileys:

Lots of great stuff still in service out there. Their number is only diminishing, so try to enjoy them while they’re still around.
